You have to put the hours into the Tamar to get anything decent and so I decided to hit low water and give it a go. Short story the river was the colour of the Channel and the smell suggested the recent heavy rain had played havoc with the drains. One small strap and two half decent pout were the result on squid. Interestingly my least favourite rig the pulley accounted for the fish and my preferred single hook clipped down was a blank. The vagaries of fishing continue to baffle and delight in equal measure.F533EDC9-9AD4-4456-B1DF-20CBCBC8C4CA.jpeg22939E1F-AE26-487C-9656-EBC00C9DA9FB.jpeg

Im surprised rain water would have effected the Tamar as its so big, well done on catching in it tho (y)
I mentioned this to Plaicehunter, it is just my opinion that when in flood the tamar doesn’t fish as well. Others who are more experienced may have different views.

Does look like a pout for the pan there. Thanks for the report.
