Another session at monknash today

Low water was 11:15- arrived at the beach and setup by 08:00 just as the tide was on its way out, fished until 13:00

Baits used- squid, Mackrell, anchovies, ragworm, joey.

Target species- Ray

Didn't manage to catch anything today, but thoroughly enjoyed the day out and having a go.

Uncle was 50yards away and caught 7 rays, small eyes and blondes- between 2lb and 6lb

4 other anglers on the beach and saw 3 more rays from the pair of anglers on the farside of us.

Nice venue- pay the £3 farmers parking charge and a steady walk to the beach of around 20minutes, the way back as always is uphill.

Great piccys and write up, pity you blanked, tight lines for next time.👍🎣

Thanks! All his were caught on scratching rigs intended for whiting with a sliver of Mackrell on a size 1 hook.

I am hoping to get something fitted in mid week.

I would rather try my best and blank than stay at home wishing I was out 🤣🎣

Brings back good memories , used to fish there often when I lived in Caerphilly and caught my one and only trigger fish there. Don't think I could manage that walk back up now with my dodgy knee. It's got a reputation for spooky goings on but I never heard or saw anything?

Yes the spooky woods. There were so many people walking it yesterday- seems like a very popular walking route and the car park was full when returning
