Well what can I say it's been hard going up here. I've put the hours in fished different locations to get a keeper codling, I'm sick of just chips and peas.
The fist session to report was at Hendon prom 2 weeks ago, a lovely sea running. I had some cracking bait and nearly blanked.1000016364.jpgAnd this one saved the blank1000016305.jpgNot my biggest but a contender for the smallest and it fell for this1000016308.jpgYellow tails and squid cocktail.
Next up was the north gare last Saturday. The sea had flattened off quite a bit but I had to get out. This is where I normally due my lure fishing for bass but got the big guns out.1000016030.jpgThere was a couple of seals kicking about but didn't deter me. Finally I broke the blank here using bait, twice 🤣🤣With a couple of sea ratsAnd a little Tommy.1000016038.jpg
Next up the headland prom at Hartlepool on the Sunday with my mate Mick to use up the bait I had left. Mick blanked I had a squashed one.1000016688.jpg1000016691.jpgNext up was last night Middleton pier Hartlepool. With the storm weather at the weekend I was itching to get out, so I finished work and hour early and off I went. Got there for 17.00. The first six or seven casts resulted in 5 whiting☹️ not what I was after especially using cart wing and squid. The sea was dropping all the time as the tide was flooding.
About 19.00 I got the bite I was after and in it came a codling around 2 1/2 lb the only codling on the pier between 8 other anglers1000016936.jpgIt was gut hooked and bleeding so I had to keep it☹️ I usually put my first one back, it went dead after that nothing was being caught, 3 lads left about 20.00 they'd had enough.
The fish were there but the way the sea was with the storm at the weekend they must of pigged out and we're full. I left at 21.00 as I had work today just as I was leaving there was one more codling around the 3lb mark caught.
My mate Mick was fishing the pilot pier opposite and called me to say there was a lad on there with a 5 lber.
Mmm tonight's tea
1000016941.jpg And it was delicious. I'll be back out this weekend hopefully now I've got one there'll be more to follow and bigger until then you lot have fun 🎣🐟🐟

Whoop whoop 💪👏
Brilliant report.
Loved it

Fabulous report & photos Stevie - well done on the Coddie fillets for tea. Nice one! 🎣🎣👍👍

Well done on your fish, a cracking report and accompanying photo's
what do you think of the Limitless rod.
I've never used one, the set up I'm using at the moment is a zulcron xt 435 lite and a Penn mag2 or Penn fathom 15 both great reels. I can't fault it, it puts a 6oz lead right out there it's improved my casting by 50-70 yards I'm hitting about 150-180yards without bait with an off the ground cast but most of my fishing is done from 30 - 100yards. It has a great action and a bit of poke to it and the bite detection is one of the best I've had on a rod and I've had some cracking rods over the years. I was using a zippy zetech txl but found it a bit to much for my back. So I got rid of it custard wasn't happy with me selling it as she bought it for Christmas for me a few years back, the money I got for it I bought the xt lite and what I had left took her out for a meal so happy all round😁👍.
