Thought I'd make the most of the light winds and head down channel. After a long walk to the further most boulder outcrop, baits in the water 3 hours before low. First few casts hit line snags that were recovered complete with live doggies attached. Moved 50 yards and more line snags recovered complete with dogs again. Around 20 dogs later it was the bottom of the tide, a brace of 2-3lb codling added some variety, followed by a fiesty strap. More dogs then a better bite and a 5lb ish small eye. Last cast and another snag recovered complete with dog, second rod hits line snag which I got to the edge of the boulders before frustratingly hanging up and losing the lot. Time to move, now 3 hours into the flood. So dropped back into white mark to fish up and over high water. Straight away missed a stonking bite, definitely a Ray, typically as I was baiting up the second rod. Odd dog, some very good whiting for the time of year, steady sport, the an hour before high another small eye, carbon copy of the first, around 5lb. Decided to call it a day at this point, the fish were feeding well but the call of a cold cider was just too much. A hectic day but nothing of any quality.

Nice one Squiddy but sounds like a lot of line snags there. It’s not usually that bad?

It's a mark that is getting more and more popular, despite not being able to park at the farm anymore. Problem is lots go there very under gunned tackle wise. Some of the line snags were very light in the line department, all manner of gadgets and beads, plus leads totally inadequate for the area really. I'm old school lol, 0.47 mainline, 100lb rig body, 6 n quarter oz lead, thick long stiff wires. None of these plastic gadgets and extra bits to snag up, just a bent wire off the lead for a bait clip. You should see what I drag in at bossington! ??

Welldone for clearing the snags!!!! Being where it is I take it the waters really dirty with big tides?? Wouldn't want the divers finding them with fish attached!!!!!

The water was very dirty for there, it can clear a fair bit if the weather is settled. No divers around there, way too much tide in the bc. I'm sure the next storm will remove most of it ?

Fished whitemark this morning and bites from the off from dogs resulting in a steady stream of them arriving at my feet. Had a small spotted about a pound and half on the turn of tide filled by a two and half pound doggie. After that a steady stream of std dogs and missed a decent slack liner. Found a few line snags and managed to pull out of all but one so I’ve now added to the problem so apologies in advance ? been a great week and remember why I enjoy fishing up here so much but also a new appreciation to how lucky as anglers we are to have a few hours to recharge our lives ?

Nice reports Squidword and Live in Hope. Sounds like it's doggie city at the minute though!

Yes, I’ve picked up some really light stuff there and wondered why the hell people would fish it with what looks like 12lb line.
And yep, as you say, all sorts of gadgets and springs attached to their rigs.
I found one up grenaleigh once that had I think about six swivels on it and lots of other bits.
It was only a single pennell rig!
Before cutting it up and putting it in my rubbish bag I spent a bit of time between fishing looking at it and trying to figure out what all the bits did, but gave up baffled in the end!

Well if you come across a set of 6 feathers attached to a four ounce lead give me a shout it my only set for the season ? looked prime for a makkie session today.

Great session. Well done ?
