Thought I'd make the most of the light winds and head down channel. After a long walk to the further most boulder outcrop, baits in the water 3 hours before low. First few casts hit line snags that were recovered complete with live doggies attached. Moved 50 yards and more line snags recovered complete with dogs again. Around 20 dogs later it was the bottom of the tide, a brace of 2-3lb codling added some variety, followed by a fiesty strap. More dogs then a better bite and a 5lb ish small eye. Last cast and another snag recovered complete with dog, second rod hits line snag which I got to the edge of the boulders before frustratingly hanging up and losing the lot. Time to move, now 3 hours into the flood. So dropped back into white mark to fish up and over high water. Straight away missed a stonking bite, definitely a Ray, typically as I was baiting up the second rod. Odd dog, some very good whiting for the time of year, steady sport, the an hour before high another small eye, carbon copy of the first, around 5lb. Decided to call it a day at this point, the fish were feeding well but the call of a cold cider was just too much. A hectic day but nothing of any quality.
