testing out my new floaty , which a m8 says looks like a ironman suit from a dollar store, - don't care as long as i stay warm n dry. with both rods out i stood there watching the lights up on the bank and wondering if i should have made the effort to join them. it was an unusual night for me as i didn't bother setting up the bivvy there was so little wind and it stayed dry i just never got around to it.

a big double nod & slackline from the pennel rig first chuck and i was on it swiftly , weird fight, lots of weight odd headshake then less, gently pumping in a dead weight and at one point i thought it had gone,? maybee a bit of weed perhaps, but then as i got it near the surfline it ran trying to strip line against a tight clutch , i backed off the clutch but it had gone. this left me hopefull but the rest of the night dragged by, bites were thin on the ground , i finnished with a strap, a couple of pout and a titchy smalleyed ray. before giving up & heading home , lost fish are always a frustrateing mystery
