South East Lots and lots of sea rats

Fished the point at Dungeness today.
8,45am to 2,30pm. High water at 11ish
Lots and lots of weed making keeping a bait in the water for more than 5 minutes impossible. Not that you needed to.
Fished 3 hook clipped rigs, and I doubt that more than a couple of times I didn't have a triple shot of fish.

Finished with 2 dabs, 2 pout, 2 dogs and well over 100 whiting

I just had to fish for what was Infront of me.
I cast out, baited the second rod, cast that out and wound in the 1st. Then repeated again and again and again.
Did that for 5 ½ hrs

Top marks for giving it a go. Perfect conditions for a cod, before their extinction in Kent a few years ago.

Less than 10% sizeable.
It's ridiculous.
I understand that you don't get big fish all the time, but that percentage is pathetic.

I wonder when was the last time a Kent venue produced a bag of whiting that had a couple of 1Lb+ fish?

A long time ago I’d wager. Once they start getting to that size they probably can’t get through the trawlers nets.
