After some mixed fortunes through the Autumn, things had improved a bit since my last report. I’ve certainly been putting in the hours, including an overnight session where after a full day in work, I started fishing at 18:45 and didn’t finish until 09:45 the following morning 🥱, and all for a grand total of 2 schoolies 🤦‍♂️.

Thankfully, I only blanked twice in the next 9 sessions, and I also improved on my best fish of the season with my first 60cm+ fish since 2021 😊, which absolutely inhaled my Mishna 😮.

This week promised to be the most challenging of my season so far, with the forecast of temperatures down to near freezing and some potentially heavy snow, but I wasn’t about to let that put me off 😄. Sadly, my luck was out on Wednesday night and after nearly 4 hours hours of fishing with just 2 missed hits to show for it, I returned to a well and truly frozen car 🥶 and a much needed warm up.

I’m not giving up just yet though and weather permitting I’ll be out again later this week, in the hope of adding some late bass to my total 🤞.

Great fishing Andy, well done (y)
Looks like you haven't lost your touch Andy and still doing the business I see.
I presume you will be chasing the congers again very soon buddy.

Thanks gents (y).

I fished twice in the week after this report, with each 4.5 hour session resulting in a solitary missed hit, so that's my lure season over for another year.

It's great to hear from you again Tony, I hope you're well.

You're right in presuming that I'm back on the hunt for Congerzilla again now, unfortunately though it hasn't got off to the best of starts. A session at the Daleks last Tuesday night resulted in a broken tip ring, a bloody good soaking and just 3 dogs to show for my efforts .

The Daleks?? Is this a Barry mark. Im not spot stealing just what a superb name for a mark. In fact its got me thinking. What a great theme for a fishing social culture book. The rediculous sea fishing mark names of great britain.

It's a welcome to the madhouse from me Dai (y)

As VB says, it's a mark near Amlwch on Anglesey. You can see below how it got its name 😄.
