Jinxed it 4/4/22
Well I suppose it serves me right. After breaking my recent silence to post a couple of good catches it’s only fair I post this weeks effort & yes you’ve guessed it, blankety blank. To coin the old game show phrase “ the cheque book & pen “ would be handy at the moment to pay for fuel & bait or I could have gone for chesil heaven & hell.
This weeks only option I thought looked promising a high just after spring, not long after dark fishing 3 hours up & down with a bit of colour in the water sea rougher than of late to churn up some food,
Target species anything that swims past that eats fish or squid attached to a pulley dropper.
Well the lack of people fishing kind of gives the game away when you arrive you know then it’s going to be a struggle.
Not even a bite tonight, well none that I saw, have recently taken to holding the rod in rougher conditions a bit like a quivertip to feel for bites with some success but not tonight. Only a few times the hooks came back with no bait & I have a feeling the spiders are back in town as often of late it feels like something on there but as you hit the ledge on retrieval they come off.
To preempt a few points I am still working on my casting to get past the rougher water, have dropped Line diameter to reduce drag but am still guilty of not buying worms or perhaps targeting a certain species.
Maybe I should try to highlight key times along with the right moonphase on a day I can go but on the other hand you may never get there and despite the blank It was bloody good to get out fishing & to finish back on the game shows you’ve gotta be in it to win it!
