After blanking the last couple of times I decided to give it another go at the north gare.
Low water was at 17.30 I got there at 16.00 to fish it back then in for a couple of hours. As I pulled up in the carpark it started to rain only light drizzle so on went the work coat to keep me dry and made my way to the mark. The sea looked spot on.
I tried soft plastic ones first nothing for about an hour so out came the metals ( I can't believe how far they cast half the time I didn't see them hit the water).
After half an hour with them still nothing. I had a look about and there wasn't many seagulls so I put on a pachinko thing on and had a go with that after a few casts with it I still couldn't master the walk the dog thing, so decided to put a woke top lure onI had a mess about with it to see how it reacted to certain movements of the rod as I've never used one before little twitches of the tip seemed to work so I set to it. Out it went about 70 yards and I started the retrieve I couldn't see the lure but new whereabouts it was then something hit it and pushed it out the water, I nearly shit myself I wasn't expecting that it didn't connect . So out it went again this time something hit like a train and fish on wahoo it gave a cracking fight taking line I was buzzing as it came closer and I could see it was a decent bass.
I finally landed it and measured it 45cm a pb for me wahoo my 3rd bass on a lure wahooI didn't see I had an audience behind me and old couple, luckily for me the old fella took a pic of me and the fish. He asked if I was going to eat it and I said I was returning it he couldn't believe it. So off it went back in the drink. The forecast looks good for tomorrow so I'll be back out with a mate and his son who's just getting over a battle with cancer so it should be fun.
