Think I mentioned before that I'm going to buy a motorhome and go traveling around the UK and Sweden/Norway. Well it's happening soon so will be looking for advice/recommendations on possible places I can park up overnight and fish. Will have loads of fishing stuff to sell on as I can only take so much with me and will post stuff here in classifieds. Be nice to too meet a few members on my travels so I can put faces to names either for a beer or to fish with.

Seaton seafront, free overnight parking after 6pm including campers, but there is a max vehicle length,
18ft rings a bell but don't quote me.

Sounds like ‘the dream’ @goose …..unfortunately every Lincolnshire coastal car park have either height barriers or no overnight parking…..or both. The local council dosnt seem to like motor homes.

Parking overnight and sleeping in a camper van (etc.) is not permitted, although it has to be said that people do flout this rule.
;)
All I know is when I was investigating parking charges at a number of venues, I stumbled across a motor homing site that listed Seaton as "a forward thinking town council" for allowing campers to park there overnight for free,
obviously their published info is incorrect.

Chesil.... I know just the place!
Chesil would be good, fished it a few times but motorhomes aren't allowed to park overnight in the locations I've been to. Tell me more please PM if you don't want to broadcast it.

Plenty of places here for motor homes in lay bye's and pull ins.

Not sure of car parks and front, and definetly not on daughters partners car park here.

But plenty of different species, bass all year round.

I would love to have bought camper van and travelled the whole UK visiting places i went as a kid and seeing if i remember the place.

Been all over UK except Norfolk and SE Coast

All the best on your travels @goose

Simple there are several laybys that are unrestricted and free.
Accessing the beach also simple. Easiest place is probably..... on the Portland Road just off this roundabout.

I've fished at the masonic carpark, climbing the shingle bank with all my kit is doable but gets harder as I get older and motorhomes aren't allowed to use the carpark overnight.

I am definitely not suggesting you try the Masonic but definitely suggesting you can park up in the lay-by behind the yellow lines which are broken or in the road opposite both off that roundabout. Not quite sure how you would get a camper into the Masonic car park anyway unless it's a convertible?.

I doubt you can park anywhere on Chesil where you won't have a walk in a camper.

Yh hink I know where you mean, if you leave the masonic carpark heading into Weymouth then first roundabout. Sure there is a carpark around there with a cafe and toilets but don't know the rules on motorhomes.
