Well it's been a while since I've wetted a line what with poor weather and other things. My van was in for its MOT and a service Friday morning and not really expecting it back till midafternoon I was surprised to get a call just gone 11am that it was all good to go. Not one to miss an opportunity I got my van , loaded my gear and on my way to the M3 I was deciding where to head. Pull in a garage and a quick look at the tides and the shingle bank was my chosen place.
Arrive in time for a late lunch in the pub and a scout around of hordle cliffs, Milford on sea (needles cafe) and then finally to the shingle bank. A few anglers to the right of the rocks, I walked a couple of hundred yards up the bank and settled in.
I only had frozen bait. A couple of wraps of blacks, some dirty squid and a couple of joey mackerel. So one rod with a loop rig size 2's baited with blacks tipped with squid. The other rod a pulls dropper with squid/mackerel wraps. Quite a bit of tidal pull but thankfully no weed and was perfectly fishable for the entire session. Bites were few and far between for me but I ended up with half dozen dogs. I fished an hour up and called it a night about 10-45pm. Good to be out again and always some cracking scenery to be had in that area.
There were a fair few anglers there yesterday evening, spoke to one and all he had was dogs also.
Tight lines.
