The day started off with me picking up some lug worm at horden tackle shop I ordered for tonight's session at crimdon beach low water, I'll get to that in a bit.
This afternoon saw me at the north gare again with the lures at 2pm high water was at 3 pm.
Got to my favourite spot on the blocks at the start of it there was a good sea running First lure was a sandy Andy weedless out it went. As I'm learning about bass fishing I've watched a fair few videos on you tube and they were all saying very slow retrieve in the winter months so that's what I did. About ten minutes before high tide I was in it took the lure about 20 ft Infront of me it came up and smashed it after a little fight I had it at my feet. This is where it got tricky custard bought me a new measuring tape fecking useless every time I unrolled the bloody thing to take a pic it wound itself back up again it measured 43cm but I couldn't take a pic because I couldn't hold my phone and the tape at both ends the fish had been out the water for a little bit so I put it back and off it went so you'll have to take my word for it. I fished till 4 pm and had nothing else so went home for tea and sort myself out for the beach session later.
I met up with my mate Dan at the top of the steps at crimdon leading to the beach at 7 pm ,low water at 8.50 pm. When we got to where we wanted to fish we had to wade through the channel to get on the sand bar. My first cast lug worm straight through out it went the trap was set After 10 mins a little rattle and a little squashed one came in I couldn't believe it had a 6/0 hook in it's mouth.
Just before low I switched to cart and squid Out it went on the hunt for another codling I didn't wait long and the rod went berserk and in came this fella He was sized but I put him back to fight another day. Dan had a decent sized whiting which he kept for his cat. We were slowly getting washed back off the sand bar about 10 pm and didn't want to risk getting stuck so we waded back to the beach and headed home. So I'm happy with today I'm back out again at the gare at low water in the morning if I get a bass I will take a plc till then have fun.
