Ok what do you use?

Just bought a Trabbuco lead pouch picked it up last night and a wire went straight through the lid into my thumb.

So any suggestions. I would prefer some fishy brand. But if not I'll go Asda for a polypropylene lunch box.

Bottom of a tackle box or rucksack.. along with the spare rigs.. and spinners/ lure assortment is the best place for those..👍

Depending how many you need a bit of polyprop plumbing tube works ok. Bung them in one end and pop them out of the other . Dirt cheap , all you need is a hacksaw to “ borrow” a bit from the neighbours outside pipework .
I have used mine for about twenty odd years now .

As I'm starting afresh in a total new area I have no clue how many I need with me or what I need atm.

First time out today and taking everything including the kitchen sink pota loo and 50" tv and sofa.

I don’t want to get bored.

Where are you going fishing out of curiosity?

All sorts of Gizmos, youtube has some good ideas and some not so good!

I use those 'really useful' storage boxes for a lot of my rigs, lures & weights. I have found that the strong cardboard tubes that kitchen roll is wound on are good for some size grip leads - I only use up to 4oz anyway.

The 'really useful' boxes are well made and have a clip to keep the lids in place. The last couple of lots I've ordered came from Rymans, who seem to have the best prices.

I've bought a set of 3 45litre black recycled ones (similar size to a seatbox) which stack for storing tackle & spares at home, and quite a few of the clear boxes around 1litre for lures, weights, and rigs in poly bags. They are often on offer in sets of 3. I did see a guy coming out of B&M here yesterday with the same set, so B&M might have them on offer at Transit way.

Same as @flappy said, my leads just sit in the bottom of my seat box! And depending on weather/tide etc depends which selection I take. I have trace wallets and reels are wrapped but I personally don’t feel the need to have a container for weights.

Bottom of bag in old pouch type thing you would get with razor.
Mostly fish full sandy area so only take 4 at most.

o_OWires still poke through though;);)

So first time out.

Bait shop opened at 9. Picked up some bait and off I went to fish by the bait bunker.

Easy day out net to a tackle shop incase I forgot anything.

Windy as hell yachts nearly blowing into the rocks and a tanker with tug support coming in. Not looking good but that's part of the game.

Tripod up rods set up so thought I'd have a couple of chucks on each rod before baiting up.

First rod 6oz lead go for a shorts lob a out 40yds then a 80/100yds before I bait it up.

So all ready first lob to 40yds half way through and an almighty crack as I watch the top 2ft fly down the line to the lead.

My brand new Penn tidal x 423 is now a four piece rod.

Rang the dealer he said bring it back I'll change it which he has. Tried the other rod and seems fine.
Then packed up changed the rod and home at 11am.

Starting to think should I have took up sea fishing again?

I have had the same "wham" boxes in my box for 15 years.
I line the bottom with layers of kitchen towel to wick away dampness.
The lids are not air tight so you don't end up with mould.
I have a lead box, a box for knife forceps elastic etc and a box for sundries.
Highly recommended.....

I just put a small lacky band on the grip end, you may need to squish the grippers first. Simples (y)

Either a quality tupperware type box (you can glue a piece of ali to the inside of the lid to stop hand injuries when you put the top on) or a lure tube or two ... both have worked for me for 40+ years without drama.

Because I fish out of a tackle box most of the time, I use the breakaway lead storage thingy that fixes to the inside of the box onto the backrest conversion.
Failing that, ice cream tubs.

Same as shirls if tackle box, if rucksack use a heavy duty medium/ small bucket which slides into sack as liner for bottom half, grip leads and other pointy bits go in bottom along with other stuff. Edit, I carry x10 seven ounce grip leads which with wires not extended and taped with butchers tape and just cover bucket bottom, everything else on top.
Forgot to mention have a piece of rubber matting in bottom of bucket to absorb shocks when leaping about, and nice and quite.
