The forecast wasn’t good but I decided I had to get out for a break from COVID related things .
I got £10 each of lug and rag from southwest seabaits , and headed off for a short drive to a local Mark .
I had 2 rods with 2 hook flapper rigs , I got there for 4.30pm low water was 6.15pm , first bait was in the water about 4.45 it was only in for a couple of minutes when boom it went over after a spirited fight taking line up river I slid it in among the weed it was a lovely bass , I did not weigh it or measure it as I was being watched so I quickly returned it , but I recon it was 45cm and about 2.5lb , then as it got darker the fish came on the feed bass and more bass and pout and more pout and then the whiting put in a appearance, quite a few double shots pout and whiting bass and whiting, by now my coat was off my hat and gloves were off , it was non stop then I ran out of bait about 8pm .
