Four days fishing in a row! I must be on holiday!!
No, just working very local so taking advantage of it and able to grab an hour or two's fishing each morning.
Today I was lucky enough to have a score of fresh out worms to lure the bass to my hooks.
I wanted to head west to Galloways but the wind would have made casting with a light bass rod a bit tricky, so I fished at the end of the DAA controlled concrete road at Dungeness.
There was a reasonable amount of surf and a good bit of colour in the water, so that and being armed with fresh bait, I was quietly confident of seeing a bass.
First cast and a missed bite, things were looking good.
Second cast, contact. Dogfish!

Third cast, contact. Sea rat!!

All subsequent casts saw the bait come back washed out, but otherwise intact.
Only a two and a half hour session and two fish.
I can see a "must try harder" appearing on the report card!

If the fish aren’t there…
We’ll done on getting out and catching though!
