When i was a kid fishing with my father he would never fish where there were no worm casts showing.
The beach down below where we got caravan is absolutely bare of worm casts and flat but many catch bass with bait down there, i have only had a doggie once on bait and nothing with lure.
Where i fish agree its definetely tide times & conditions within a a short length of same coast line and different marks they are all completely different.
