I met up with dirty squid at a local mark for our first lure session of the year , for me anyway Nick had one in January. it was low water our plan to fish it in to high, boy it looked good big waves plenty of white water and fizz , as the tide came in the waves got bigger . So we set off on over a mile walk in the nice warm sunshine and breeze, we got to our first mark around low I fished for about half an hour and lost my first weedless jelly , so decided to sit up high about 10ft about the last wave mark , enjoying lunch when a wave grabbed my foot , good job I had sprayed them earlier, so I moved another 10ft to the highest rock where I was , then bang another big wave this time sprayed me all over , so decided to move back inshore a bit , so 2 hours went by no bites , so off to our second mark of the day a nice mark with big rocks to stay dry , but the surf now was big with bigger sets coming in so after losing another weedless I moved back up the cove to be well above the waves , meanwhile Nick had landed a small 38cm bass , so I got a few bites and had one on for a second , and now I had also lost a FBM , so it was getting on for high and me and Nick had to make a safety call to pack up , by now the sets were getting bigger .74F41A4B-996C-436E-A664-FDE62119822E.jpegE8257591-0CCD-4045-941A-A95DFD8C9A49.jpeg

Great report and any lure caught bass in March is a cause for celebration. Well done.

Soon as these easterlies bog off I will be dusting down the lure gear.

Nice report. Shame that the fish did not play.

Nice try and a great report John, but it sounds as if it was a bit rough! As you said, still a bit early in the year yet. Stay safe. ????
