Morning all,
I headed back to my north Kent bass Mark last night with a pal to try and find some silver.
Lovely evening with the breeze off our backs, a little bit of cloud cover, nice moonlight and the sound of the birds and occasional train horn in the background.
We both fished 2 rods with flappers and up and over rigs at various distances. The first hour past without a sniff, then one hour before high water we started getting some interest. Plenty of small bites but no hook ups, then my pal finally found himself a small suicidal bass (we call these Mars bars on the count of their snack appeal). I was missing a few rattles then suddenly I found a bit more of a positive response, and I had a small schoolie on the shore.
High tide came and went then my pal had another Mars bar and a few more rattles, then my right had rod which was baited with about 4 large lug took a few thumps. A nice little fight in and I had a nice bar of silver about 40cm to show for it. After that we saw no more bite, but an angler further down the beach had a couple of small ones plus a flounder on the ebb.
Overall very happy with another nice catch to finish the session off.
Until next time
Alan
