Hi all, finally I've managed to get round to writing a quick round up of the last couple of months fishing..... Not sure why, but just always seem busy!

I've mostly stayed local targeting hounds, but have tried for bass, rays, and sole. And recently I've finally got round to having 2 trips on the Welsh tope.

First the hounds, it's been a busy few weeks with most trips finding a few fish, plenty of doubles, with the best going 16lb 08 so far.... Definitely happy with that. IMG-20220425-WA0012_resize_92~2.jpg

The rays have been a bit quiet, no blondes this year, but plenty of thornbacks, and a PB spotted of 3lb14

The bass sessions were a bit slow, with only a few smallish fish, but then had a cracker of 10lb 8 ?
My 2nd biggest bass.... Well happy. IMG-20220605-WA0013_resize_75.jpg

I also tried for an early sole, and was lucky to find 2 on one session... No monsters but at least I'm off the mark for this year.

I did have a bit of a problem with eels, biting me off on the sole gear, but landed a few low doubles which is alway nice.

So now the last 10 days.... Basically plenty of hounds, and my first trips over to Wales to try and catch my first proper Tope!

Now I went and looked at a mark last year while away with the Mrs, and when a mate said did I fancy a trip?..... I jumped at the offer, and a few days later we were on the mark.
It turned out to be a bit of a dog and spider fest, but as most other anglers were packing, I had a run, and hooked my first proper tope ?
After a good scrap a nice fish was in the net, pics taken, and fish returned.... Wow I was buzzing.

Then unbelievably the 2nd rod screamed off, and in came a 2nd PB ?

What a trip, and we just had to go back, so a week later out went the baits again.
Plenty of mackerel were showing on feathers, with scad and gurnards, but no Tope. Loads of dogs again and my mate had a huss and a hound.
Then I had a big slack and a cracking scrap in the big tide, this was definitely a bigger fish, and after some trouble getting it in the net, it was finally mine.
Wow... Another PB... I was knackered, but buzzing at the same time.... What a place Wales is for the Tope! So the last pic of the round up, and a cracking shot taken by my mate.... Cheers bud ?IMG-20220618-WA0001_resize_14.jpg

I'm afraid I had to take a few pics out as limited to just 10, but hope you enjoy the pics as much as I enjoyed catching them.

Cheers all Si.
