Not posted for a bit as not hardly been catching much bar odd wrasse, dogfish and mackerel, changed that today tho, was up and fishing by 5.45am, the pond looked stunning, dead calm, a few fish rising and no swans!!.
And it seemed no hungry fish either, as I sat there for two hours biteless, had two floats out at different depths, only interesting thing happening was feeding a crow and couple a ducks, just before 8 I chucked the last bit a ground bait in the bucket out and rebreaded the hooks, dropping one a couple a foot from the weir edge, within a minute the float started to move to the right quickly, grabbed the rod and fish on, he gave a great fight, tangling the other floats line, took several attempts and lunges before I finally netted him and a lovely Thick lipped Mullet lay there in front of me, he went 2.13 lb, so a PB for me, as only had undersize ones before and species 30 for the year. He slipped back with a loud slap of his tail, leaving me to untangle the two traces, couldn't do it so cut them off and packed up happy.

We have a BANTER forum for all of us to have a great laugh with, and for those who like me, just don't have any opportunities to actually get close to the sea.
You should ??? look at it and keep it in mind for the times that you can't go fishing ??

Nice mullet?
