Quick overnighter last night at my favourite pit, got there at 6pm, gone by 10am. Rather chilly last night, phone said 7c, cold north wind hacking across the pit, a few lads had set up in the teeth of it and had nothing, (it’s been fishing slow recently anyway) so I drove round to the back of the wind and found a few rolling off the back of the wind. So quickly dumped the kit, stuck the car in the car park and ran back to the swim to set up. I was up just before dawn after a blank night and saw a few carp head and shouldering in the same spot, so I dropped a 6 bait stringer on them and went back to bed. 45mins later it was away. After a chat with the bailiff & his son, i wended my way home, took the wifey to Hythe and hired a rowing boat down the royal military canal. (Even spooked a carp in the reeds as well as a few jack pike) quite fancying a trip or two down there now!
