Strange night on Clacton Pier.

First cast I had a good take and had a strong heavy fish on, which hugged the bottom. Unfortunately it hugged the bottom too well and my 80lb leader got cut, so that was the classic one that got away. We reckoned it was a reasonable stingray.

Fishing was slow, but I did manage a small hound, a thornback and a bonus stingray of just over 9lbs.

Much better than my previous nights session on Clacton Beach which was more gardening than fishing.
