Popped down Salcombe way last night in the hope of a Flounder, was a nice crisp evening with no wind, perfect for this spot, had the rods in the water by 5.30.
30 mins later I got the first bite and a bit a weight on the line bringing it in, first schoolie of the year. quick pic and he was back swimming. tide was pushing in fast so had a couple of moves and a whole hour to wait till the next bite, which was very small taps, left it for a bit before pulling in to him and fish on, no fight on the way in, which raised my hopes and yep the target Flounder slide up the beach, nice flattie that went 1.4 lb.
Now didnt know what to do whether to pack up as got the fish I wanted or fish on for a bit, tho this beach doesn't hold much else other than Flounders, Bass, pouting and very odd Pollock, plus it was getting chilly, gave it another cast, glad I did as had a smaller Flounder.
So after 2 hours, 3 fish, 2 new ones, I was packing up and looking forward to getting in the car and warming up a bit. Brr
