So Gray the Ray and I finally found a few hours we were both free and headed for Cogden.
It was my first trip this year, finishing off working has meant little time or opportunity, a new grandson has also taken priority.
Anyway it took a while just to get back into the swing of it and it's the old story really it fished real hard and the only plaice came on blacks at long range.
Now this sounds like a pretty poor short session and honestly from a fishing perspective it probably was but the pics below explain why me n Gray go down there.

We are back out Wednesday.... we will move along a bit.
The clay seems to be covered in some places cos of all this calm weather.
Where we met last time will probably be where we try.
Actually you may have had a few yesterdayww only got a few big casts away and the plaice fell to one of those....
So you will probably wanna bring you longest gear with you.
I was playing Russian roulette yesterday with rebuilt STs and actually it seems I have got rebuilding about right!

Great photos chesilpete, like you said the clay seems to have moved or covered over.
Think a few sessions at various locations along the stretch will find the mud again.
The long casters usually pick out the spotties but you never quite know if your going over and past them!
A good walk at Cogdon will pay off soon especially to get away from the tinsel tossers!

Good luck to anyone putting in the effort.

Glad your sabbatical is over Pete, good to see you or Gray managed to find a spotty thing. Cheers, Bob
