chesil,
fished approx 1000-2130.

baits.- squids, blklug. horsemackerel. bluey.

rigs, two hooks flapping (short) . dropdown wishbone. pulley (2/0 circles).

weather , dry bright and cloudless, light northerly winds . warm in the sun . cold when dark.

tides,- hmmmn - high tide was for about 1930, the graph i checked showed a medium tide , but darkness showed no moon and the tide was bigger than expected but little pull

i met up with a couple of m8's , they were the only ones fishing the beach as i arrived, Rob had caught a small strapp and later after a while jim caught a reasonable black bream.

i had set up with scratching rigs , and blanked over lowwater, just saw an odd knock and a pull round bite which was there then gone.
at about half tide my blank was beaten with a similar sized bream to jims, i had brought out the abu6500's hopeing for a change of luck but it made little difference.

i fished and dozed through the afternoon, it was pleasant in the sun and quite warm where it had shone on the stones for a few hours. hopes were high for some action as dusk and hightide approached but it quickly got cold. a few more anglers had turned up.

darkness brought a few pout on the feed and another eel for Rob, a better one at 6lb before they had had enough and left.
i stuck it out for another hour or so before calling it a night , thought my heart might pop by the time i'd dragged my kit to the top of the bank, hate this getting old thing.

Well done on the bream. Are they usually around this time of year?

I have often wondered.. are bream a recent phenomenon in the uk.?.. don’t remember them being caught when I was growing up..🤷🏼‍♂️

Good report & photos Gordon. 🎣🎣👍👍

Lovely job mate. I headed down that end yesterday afternoon towards the cove, was pretty busy so i decided to head to Bexi…. Weong move, there was a match there so i went home. Lol.

Well done Gordon and crazy there’s still bream around. Have seen a couple of better ones on Facebook this past month too

late 70's early 80's when i was still a kid , dad and i used to target them off the inshore boats out of lyme so they were there then in the summer months but i dont remember catching them from the shore around the solent . but back then it was mainly flounder, eels n dogfish & pout around southampton plus a bass if you were lucky. though dock head could throw the occasional surprise, i cant remember how long ago the solent pirahna started turning up

Great report and a tidy session with a suprise fish report and a bit of variety in the catch
