Couldn't decide where to go on Saturday, east for rays or west for cod, so I ended up going slap bang in the middle.
Bait included rag, lug, squid and sandeel.
Quite lumpy to start off with, I wondered if I would have been better off surfing but it did eventually settle, and after a quick nap, I was fishing 2 baits at range.
A small huss, pout and dogs kept me entertained in the morning, it wasn't until mid afternoon I noticed a slightly differently bite.
Reeled in and eventually had a cod of around 5lb on the beach, caught on double sandeel.
Moments later, on the same rod, I was in to another, also caught on double sandeel.
That was it, I packed up shortly after.
Once again, Chesil didn't disappoint.

Count yourself lucky. If you did have cod there you'd also have the idiots chasing them
lol you ought to see the "railings" at fowey when "the cod are in"!!!! A winter version of "the macky are in"!!!! Lol

Well done. Out of your four baits you had I'd have thought sandeel was the least likely to catch cod. But what do I know.

Cheers.
I think if you can get a bait out to where they're feeding, it doesn't matter too much. I've had quite a few on fish baits, including one on a mackerel head at 10 yards lol!!!
