Set up in very difficult conditions, hard work, with a very strong North wind. Rain, sun and a bit of thunder. Steady fishing on the ebb, single plaice every few chucks, slack water brought spiders and lost hooks. As soon as the first trickle of the flood started it all kicked off, double and triple shots of plaice, then other species to add variety. Missed a huge slack line bite, then next cast a double figure hound on size 4 hooks. Hooked and lost what I think we're 2 very good eels through bite offs. Finally tally was 34 plaice, double hound, thornback Ray, red mullet, tub Gurnard, whiting, pout, dog and to top it all a donkey of a sole (2lb2oz). Packed up exhausted, still catching plaice at midnight! All fish fell to either lug or rag on size 4s.
