weather, dry , mostly overcast , broken cloud stiff westerly wind about f3-4.

tides,- coming down from springs, big moon between the clouds low tide about 3am

sea state, choppy, swells about 1.5- 2m , weed rafts drifting by constantly on flood.

bait:- freezer clear out, black lug/squid/prawn.

rigs;- pullys & up n overs.

after finally finding incentive to go, fished checkpoint for the 1st time.
probably the shortest climb up n over the bank.
westerly wind blowing off right quarter was stronger than i had hoped. fished the tide up for about 5 hours, the last two fighting weed rafts drifting by about 20-30yds out.
lines seemed to pull through them mostly. head wind really killed my abillity to cast and by 8am with just a poxy bootlace eel to show for it i gave up.

Great report Gordon, weather similar to mine today, but a bootlace is better than nothing. Nice pics too.. 🎣🎣

Ian.

Well done on the eel.
Wonderful little fish 😃

Nice report & photos Gordon. The little bootlace saved the blank anyway. 🎣🎣👍👍

You were not alone a couple of good anglers did 24 hours and only notable fish was a bass....
generally I would be heading west in clear sea conditions gordon

plan was for cogden through the am, but bridport road shut off at dorchester & i couldn't be arsed to find the detour, had and missed one good pulldown bite which mashed my bait but might have been weed rolling onto the line
