Yes I fill squid bodies with sardine and use bait elastic to hold them together and freeze.Done ok with them on a dongle rig in the Solent when times are hard.They give out a big oil slick

Amazing ray bait wrapped in squid up this way!

Noticed them the other day. The last time I was out Lidl sardines was the bait and had whiting, doggies and thornback on them.
Might get a couple of bags to top up.

Good from the shore too. I salt them for a day or two, toughens them up. Fish with sections, fillets or whole depending on target species. If necessary bait elastic keeps everything together. No problem casting it all holds together.
