Watched a youtube vid the other day where a guy made up a flapper rig using a white nylon cable clip with the nail removed , two sleeves and three beads . Looked quite good and could be adapted to make up a ledgering rig too. What he did was remove the nail and with a hot needle make a hole in the clip to attach the snood then slide a sleeve and bead onto the mono then thread the line through the nail guide then another bead and sleeve. Nip up the sleeves and then thread the snood mono through the hole made with the needle then fit the bead and tie off a large'ish knot to stop the mono on the bead. The whole thing rotated very freely .
Anybody tried this?

Nope...not tried it but I have a spare bag of white cable clips so might give it a go.

I think if you match the mono and bead right it is a great rig which should hold a decent sized fish. I really think it has to be tailored to what you are targeting or reasonably expect to catch.

Never seen that, but I like the idea! Thanks! ?? All sort of different size & shape cable clips too!

You could also use cable ties for booms i guess.....?

Anybody got a link?
Hi I have a link to the vid which I will post. One caveat I would add is that this system needs to be properly evaluated. It may work well on certain species and ground but may not be totally perfect... in short I think it needs testing in terms of the mono being used etc :ROFLMAO: but the principal looks good to me as a canny Scot :ROFLMAO: Also sorry it is in some foreign lingo... and I don't mean Glaswegian or the Doric :ROFLMAO:
Happy Saturday night folks !! BTW his bird is passable :p

Good video! Looks like he's from Brazil. Love the cheeky little run-up to cast, and that is some handy tray he's got on his tripod, although the tripod doesn't look too stable! ??

I don't know if I need to tell you but he has loads of videos... but since it looks like he live somewhere that you do not need a duffle coat to go to the toilet in the summer time they may not be that relevant :ROFLMAO:

It would probably be an interesting channel if his titles had English in them, or he had subtitles, but I'm not putting titles into a translator just to see what he's up to!

Looks a lot of Hag for little reward to be honest. Just get some 4way beads main line goes right through then snood goes in from side then micro bead and a knot in end to stop it pulling through other end stick hook on it's streamed lined and swivels round and round as need be.

some i make i use a small crimp instead esp when making feather sets as lines short.
So make them up with 80lb rig body set those beads up spaced as need be crimp either side or stop knots?
Then choose what i want to make feathers or Gills as make sets with small red gills also.

Trouble with his ex twin and earth clips there as aero as a brick and a weed magnet! along with tangle magnet!
Other ones you can get are those two beads and a swivel unit loads on ebay etc nice and tidy

Bet you're one of them people that used the plastic tube of cotton buds to do the same job had a friend that used all the little homemade gimmicks only thing he didn't make was a hook he was a tight arse to lol

Nothing wrong with using bits and bobs to make your fishing more personalised :ROFLMAO:
But really , and probably more importantly, this sort of rig is more for those who have a budget that require inventiveness. I honestly think this rig has its place... I reckon on of those cable clips in a small size could be used as a bait clip too!

Graeme Pullen is the lad for recycling and creating fishing bits on a budget.

The cheapest sea rig is just to use loops, a very successful rig in the 50,s and 60,s with loads of cod caught on the Holderness coast when distance didn't matter. You didnt even need the swivel and link in the rig above

To be fair last time I did any amount of sea fishing one rod has that rig on it, the other had a running ledger.
