With the bad weather around bananas and I had been discusing about what to do , after changing our minds a few times the forecast said the rain and wind would more or less stop at 5pm , so I got to our choosen mark at 4.30 and it was blowing a gale and raining hard , so I sat in my car and ate my sandwiches then it happened at 5 the rain stopped so out I got , bob was still on route .
Got on the beach wind over the top of me so it was warm coat off and rods set up , got the first one in the water with squid and Sandeel on a 2 hook rig using 1/0 hooks ,
before I got the second rod set up and before bob got here fish on , a whiting no surprise there , it was non stop action from these all night I must have had over 20 only 1 keeper about a pound .
bob handed me a couple of packets WOW worms some old rag and some nice lug just a few to use up .
I also got a single pout , about 6 dogs or more , and the one spieces I always want to catch 2 small smooth hounds .
The rain stayed off all evening and it was warm , we packed up at 9 pm high tide . Bob also had a few fish I am sure he will add his bit on here .pictures are on spieces hunt but here is the hound .8001B0E0-D103-48DB-B86F-840DFFD29A77.jpeg

Nice report John! Well done both of you for braving what could have been nasty weather. Them Smoothhounds are handsome looking critters! ????

Was surprised how warm it was last night compared to the 0 temp the night before.
I managed to let john keep all the whiting up his end of the beach, with me only hitting 6 of them, best was 1.1 lb but a nice chucky fish, a few dogfish and that was my lot, john hogged the hounds too:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
