After swapping locations of where we was going to fish and phone calls and text to make sure we all knew, I met up with Tatunka Joe, Rockmarks and Bert last night at Branscome, all though twas busy with bathers we did get to the spot Tat had said was the place to be.
I was a bit away from the other two as had some one fishing in-between us, got the rods out and bait in the water at 7.30, got my other smaller rod ready with some sabikis on and had a few flicks, third cast felt like it was bouncing on the pebbles but when stopped winding was still bouncing so fish on, not one, but two, a small Tub and a Grey Gurnard, a nice start, as these was returned there was a few small twitches on the bottom rod and a very small pouting came in, 3 species all in half an hour.
Tat came over with Bert for a chat and some treats, which was was quickly chomped away, by Bert not Tat.
As the sun started to go down I had another small rattle on the bottom rod and another Grey come out, which was quickly followed by his mate on the feathers, I saw Tat go down to throw some thing back as well which was a small Tub, as dusk crept more he shouted across to have a go for Scad, so mackerel was deployed on all hooks including feathers, I had a few nibble but no takers, Tat shout across that he has had one so I popped along the beach to have a chat with Martyn and him, plus bringing a few more treats for Bert
Was told the Scad came on Sandeel and that Martyn had missed something that had a nice chomp on his Sandeel too, back along the beach again and redeployed some Sandeel, sat back on me box ready to pounce as soon as the tips moved, when I noticed a pair of glinting eyes peering out the darkness, Bert had come for some more biscuits, after cuddle and feed he wandered off again, just as Tat shouts across that he has had another Scad and Martyn has had a Bullhuss.
Sat back on me box and noticed my smaller rod was going to the right and quickly, ooh is it, is it, no its the chap in the middle had over cast me, a quick chat as was untangled, " had much?", "few small stuff during daylight but dead so far in the dark" , I replied, back to my spot and Just about to recast I noticed a slack liner start, dropped me smaller rod and pulled in to a bit of weight finally, it wasn't out far so a few turns and very small Huss and a strap was on the beach, very happy days as these gave me a couple more fish for my hunt. Tat helped unhook the Eel as I sorted the Huss and tried to take some pics while Bert did his best to steal it.
Fish back in the water and I just recast the same trace thinking Ill sort me bits on the beach first then rebait everything.
Bits back in the box and just going to the rods when the there was a nice pull down into a slack bite on the same rod, quick strike and reel in, a bit feistier this one was and the reason was Billie Bass didn't want to come up the beach. got him up with a loud whoop that brought the others over, a few pics and got him weighed at 2lb 5oz, dinner sorted.

Had one more cast after this, then deciding to call it a day, packed up and went and for a chat with the others, Martyn & Tat was both beginning to pack up too.
As they were doing that, Tat had a nice pull down that resulted in unfortunately nothing, I was a bit to busy to see that as Bert had decided to show his appreciation for the biscuits by trying to hump himself off on my leg!!
A quick chat then a stomp off back across the single, good call by Tatunaka to swap beaches, turned in to a nice session, shame we was wasn't a bit closer together for more of a chat and larf, next time hopefully.
