After a good tip From Tat again, thank you mate(y) (y) , I headed off to Branscombe yesterday, unlike before I had the whole beach to choose from as I was the only one there. Picked me spot and sent the baits out, waited 20 mins brought one in and was totally untouched so flipped it out again, just about to pick the other rod upto check that and the one I just cast was nodding, must have put the bait right on his dinner plate as a nice Grey Gurnard came out.
Managed to snag and lose that trace so popped a single small hook on and sent it out as far as I could, with a bit a rag and Mackerel on, 20 mins later, no bites but was a small bit of tugging on it on the retrieve and tonight's target came up the Beach in the form of a nice Tub Gurnard.
Hmm what to go for now, swapped all my rigs around and put a couple bigger baits out for a ray or something but kept a pop up rig for close in, which was lucky as just before dusk the ratchet clicked over and a feisty Mackerel was on, so fresh bait was sorted.
The rain had started just before the Mackerel came out, which wasn't to bad cos was hiding under me brolly, but the pain was, the gusts of winds that was coming from all angles, which had me running down the beach for said brolly a few times, so sod it put it down and got wet for a bit.
Well nothing touched the bigger baits at all, they was coming back untouched, so just after high, I gave up, one good thing of the evening, no spider crabs:D
