Always a good place for species, a calm warmish evening with a making tide.

For the first couple of hours I had three mini Smoothhounds, two school bass and a tiny Turbot, the next three hours, not a bite.

Smoothounds converge on the Solent area to give birth to pups and the pups , unlike human babies, will eat just about anything without a fuss.

It's far easier, when species hunting, to catch an A4 size hound than struggle with a drop net.

These took ragworm on size 10 hooks, not usually the size for Smoothhounds but good for species No. 29; I was hoping for a Weever, Dab or Flounder but will settle for just the one new species.
