Revisited Beesands in the hope of a ray after the Easterlies we just, had, no rays came out but a nice one pound Whiting on the first cast brought a smile to my face and luckily it wasnt a ting fest after that, with only two others taking the hook. A feisty Dogfish gave the tip a good rattle before coming out, followed by what looked like small Whiting bites till it slacked lined, few shakes on the way in and a nice 6.5lb Smoothound was on the beach shaking his tail furiously at me.
That was the first two hours, the next two was totally dead, right up till it called it a day and last cast syndrome kicked in with a very small Dogfish.
Not the greatest session, but a point for the hunt in the very warm conditions.

A pound whiting! I honestly can't remember the last time I caught one that size in the UK.
