Bananas and Rock marks talked me into a road trip to the Bristol Chanel , after a hour and a half drive up the M5 we got there , I met bananas at Exeter we had arranged to get to Haldon hill and them phone each other for the drive up , well talk about perfection I came down Haldon hill and Bob came out in front of me perfect timing .
We got to our chosen mark and after a visit to the local loos we were ready , a quick phone call to martyn and there he was just a hundred yards away .
The tide was on its way in and it was blowing hard and cold , so we got suited and booted and got down on the sand and mud .
I had rag and lug ,squid and mackerel and frozen black , first rod with a 7oz lead on was launched toward the horizon and landed about 50 yards out ah well it was in the water next up was the worm bait a 2 hook rig , I didn’t wait long before I had a bite fish on a little codling maybe half a pound , I ended up with 7 codling and a whiting, a very enjoyable day trip with a couple of good mates .6EE7AC92-66AA-4B7E-AF25-D6C8C5140C89.jpegDB7C1108-6058-4B57-80C1-BE13440F3D4F.jpeg9D9316D4-CC13-4501-964B-D3D89032F2C4.jpegCCA547E0-F650-44AB-9257-E1A1BD5C680D.jpegB8C8D75C-BDD4-481B-A868-E0FA974ABEF7.jpeg0C05844A-3680-424D-BFD3-1472D942084F.jpeg325854F7-16E5-49A3-89C1-58B74E83AF62.jpeg8EB97C10-4AC4-4BDD-BFDA-1B0C38C2F583.jpeg

Was a good short trip, Me and Martyn didn't have as many Codling as Jonny pulled in, but I had a few so that was good for my hunt. Nearly managed to avoid the dreaded mud just glad it wasn't that deep!!

Well done John, Bob & Martin! Sounds like a great trip, excellent report and a few fish to boot! ??

Ah the local wall, not been there for years!.... Used to be a great area for monster yting back in the 90's.....think a record even came from there!

Good angling to get a few codling lads.... I could have waved after all ?

I only had flat rats, an eel and a dog... Couldn't fine a codling ☹️ ?
