So yestaday I joined some beys from mr club on a boat trip off minehead the plan was to fish five hrs in the mid channel for 5 hrs then get back in around 2 pm so 6 of us headed out into flat calm seas twenty mins later uptiders and down tideers loaded with blueys macs squid crab rag blacks blow and blacks (yes we had all the baits ) were sent over ten mins later I was first in freaking dog ?‍♂️Then I was in again another dog ?‍♂️?‍♂️ Then I was in again yep another dog then the rays come on the feed other lads started bringing in a steady stream of blondes in amoungst some spottys and a few thorn backs I’d stop catching dogs and was now nailing straps upto around the 15 lb mark all good fun but not wot I was arfter . Then one of the lads got bitten off the spurs were in our went wire traces and 200 lb traces. And soon Enough one of the lads boated a cracking 12 lber love em finally I started catching small blondes around the the 12 lb mark then my mate had a 29 lb eel good eel for the channel then another lad boated a stonker 16 + spur which he followed up with a nice 7 lb Huss few more spurs blondes come to the boat for us all then sadly it was time to steam in except skip one of the lads asked any chance we can stay out skip we can but won’t be able to get back in till 10 pm a quick vote and all but one lad was keen he had to be in Penzance at 4 am a quick run to the harbour for more water and snacks dropped are mate off then off we went again a couple of hrs inshore trying for cod none showed just straps dogs and more rays back to mid channel no more spurs but a few more blondes straps and dogs back to the banks try for small eye a few more blondes eels and I finally snagged a Thornback ?we then had a go for cod again but just eels and dogs So back I. We went all tired arfter 13 hrs of fishing back elated when we discovered McDonald’s was still open ? great day plenty of quality fish loads off banter maybe the fishing wasn’t as good as the first 5 hrs but can’t say we didn’t try big shout out to teddy boy as well great charter works hard and kept us out too man ???837F3608-3582-4D68-AE49-D9FA7687D3A7.jpeg133E878B-91F5-4D82-AB26-75C142354885.jpegECAB4D8E-CC69-4D34-A107-CC65F17700D1.jpeg81E41372-9E57-4164-BA62-31805FF82C4D.jpeg

Tbh had a bit of a problem with flat rats this year, they've been worse than dogs.... Just won't leave the big cod baits alone ☹️... Had over 50 of the things since new year!..... Proper crazy sessions! ?IMG_20220110_203129~3.jpg
