Popped down branscome last night for another go with @bananas he was after his gurnard and I was chaseing hounds well feck all for 3 hrs till I managed a dog then we had a nasty thunderstorm arfter it settled I snagged a 5 lb 11 oz bass he was gut hooked so got sent home with bananas for tea then I had another dog and the smallest and cutest Huss I’ve ever seen hope he will grow up to be a beast then finished the night with another bass of 4 lb 7 plenty around atm takeing all my bass this weekend on frozen Mac fillet 4 ft running ledger with a pair of mustard ultimate sz 3/0 bass hooks fast becomeing my new favourite patten Bob had a dog I think spoke to some lads that where leavening they just had dogs but think I know were the hounds are now ?not a bad night Shame it was so slow but nasty eastly didn’t help oh the second bass went back only lip hooked makeing plans for next weekend now cheers beys

Yep it definitely was a slow start there, just glad i managed a dogfish to save the blank, but was nice being back on a beach with the big rods. Totally impressed with tats knowledge of pulling bass out, superb mate?? and thanks for the fish and bait, oh and the two hooks??.
A very enjoyable evening with you and bert, just shame a few more fish didnt come my way, next time???

Yes. Local know how as to when conditions are good is the key. And that's why as a visitor it's often hard to get it right as often you have to take what you're given. Often I would cancel trips to dungeness as I knew it would be naff but often when I was busy the conditions would be perfect I wasn't free. You had to brave the weather and storm and it was perfect. Great catch. I was passing chesil once and didn't have tackle with me but I had a mooch beyond the tinsel chuckers and sat quietly watching very large bass burst out of the gutter and snatch heads and tails of the chuckers by catch as they cleaned them of guts and heads. It was a bit overcast with a decent wave and they were there..big ones too. Other times when it was sunny and calm there was nothing and the heads and guts were seagull food instead. One day when I'm there I'll get it right and the puzzle pieces will fit.
