Hi all
Got out to the chosen reef mark. The Clevedon hopper I knew was on his way was soon identified by some form of Morse code signalling not far away at about 1a.m. soon we were both set up and baits cast out, mine large squid on both rods, and hopps large dug rag on one and whole squid on the other.things seemed a bit slow, the weather didn't help, wind, rain, sleet.
The last hour of the ebb produced 2 codling 3lb2oz and 2lbs for me..fellow hopper unfortunately not through lack of trying wasn't so lucky this session.
Both fish took a whole large squid, not a touch using the dug rag which t.c.h kindly provided, many thanks hopps.soon after L/W we both decided to clear off as conditions worsened and time to get off the reef anyway
Tight lines
