I was using lures that would use for bass, I suspect that it would have been a bass in the surf. It certainly gives you a jolt when you have been fishing a while without a touch then the reel starts giving up line with that nice sound. I don't think I had the drag set right and the fish was not hooked right and got rid of the lure? I have to be honest I do not know what else it would have been.
The place is really nice but those flat rocks are like glass. I wanted to move around the corner there it looked good, a bit less surf, but the rock was just too slick for my liking.
