After having a good few poor sessions lately on the beaches, either blanks or small flatties and tings, I nipped out to my local Mullet spot for an hour, while she decided to go for a nap after work. On arrival, there was quite a few crabbers out in force, bloody Easter break, but one my favourite spots was free, loaded up the spinner and started flicking it out, within 5 mins a Mullet surfaced a few feet out, had a look at me and swam off, 5 mins after that I had one follow the spinner right to my feet before turning away, very annoying when they do that and don't take it.
A few more fruitless casts before, bang fish on, do love how Mullet hit the spinner, lots a splashing and jumping, which got all the crabbers oohing and he was in the net, not a biggy but a very welcome early fishy, probably around a pound n half.
A quick pic and then the question session started, wot is it mister?, you going to eat it mister?, can I have it mister?, Mullet, No!, Feck off!!. Fish back in the water, I resumed flicking hoping that he wasn't the only one out there, but after half an hour later I decided he was the only one and packed up, losing the spinner also gave me the nudge to pack up too.
