Jax and I decided to spend a couple of hours on the beach this afternoon (Local, within 5 miles of home!)
Owing to Jax working in the morning we did not arrive till just gone high tide (around 1pm).
There was a keen East wind blowing and as we arrived at our venue, it started to rain!
We loaded up and walked to a space about 150yds from the car, passing one other angler on the way. He said he had had a good session with 1 dab, 4 whiting and a dogfish.

Jax and I set up with size 1, 3 hook clip down rigs baited with frozen black lug and flicked them out between 30 and 150yds.
Bites were immediate.
I was first to wind in, a triple shot of Dabs being on the end.
Next was Jax with a slug, sea rat and a Dab.
This continued for the next 2 1/2 hours that we fished.
Only once did we wind in with no fish on the end and that was on our final cast!
It was pretty much 3 fish a chuck for the duration of our session (2 1/2 to 3 hrs ish) using 2 rods each.
We kept 9 Dabs, the biggest two going 29&30cm and neither were caught by me!

Great report Shirls, nice session. I'm guessing that is you in the photo. otherwise Jax is a furry little rascal! ????

Nice one, I do like dabs. Must try and get out and see if there’s any around here before winter is over!
