Hi all. With the consistent northerlies this last couple of weeks, the fishing down my way has been tough to non-existent.
Last night however, I saw a break in the weather and decided to hit the shingle for a late one. The tides were poor and I had to wait for the water to arrive, I really wasn’t expecting anything but it was nice to be out without a Gale in my face and amongst 8 tonne of weed.
As anticipated, the fishing was slow to say the least, not even a bite!
…..Until I got out the secret bait that is!! A single punga, crushed and whipped on got sent to the horizon and not more than 10mins elapsed before a big slack liner!
It took a while to ensure the fish was hooked, I was winding down on it like a thing possessed!!
I eventually caught up with it though and boy, did it wake up! What a battle and great fun as I got her close to the shore, the water was crystal clear and I could see her fighting.
I was exhausted when I finally got my hands on her, my 98th shore hound of the year and a clonker at 12lbs 6oz!
I then fell asleep on my box and woke up at nearly 2:30am ???
2 more needed for the 100, here’s hoping!! ??????
