2023, trip eight,

monks hill, lee on solent. 17 00- 0230

weather over cast, started blowy with a stiff s/e, wind which swung south bringing showers, then dropped and brought fog.

tides, dropping away to neap , waxing moon . 1st h/w about 1730.

sea state. very coloured, choppy, wind drive waves no more than about a foot . smoothed off as wind dropped

baits, all frozen, prawn/ squid/bluey/ sticky black.

rigs, 3 hooks clipped , /up n over.

arrived to find there is now a parking charge up til 1800 anyway. after a quick look at hillhead wall..

had driven down planning on hurst but as usual i was thinking about this on the way down in the wind and rain and turned left along the m27 for shelter, forgetting the tides wont be ideal.

the drizzle and wind was irritateing and not really enough to test if the reseal of my grubby floaty suit had worked any sense.
long story short, two knocks no fish. tide flooding again by 0100 but id had enough

Nice report Gordon. With the weather like it was here last night, no way I would have gone out.
I hate getting wet unless it comes out of the hot tap! 👍👍

A bit shit then?
Well done for tying more than I have been able to do since last September!!!
I’m off to Suffolk in May for a few days hopefully I’ll get some time for fishing?
Then it’s September again this time it’s Kingsbridge in South Devon

I will be salmon and steelhead fishing in BC Canada in Sept, plus a sturgeon if they play ball on the Frazer River.

Bit of useless info, Monks Hill is in Stubbington, a borough of Fareham, not Lee on the Solent, where i was born and bred, which is a borough of Gosport. :)

Ian.
