2023. january, trip one.

chesil, abbotsbury,

1800- 0100. bloody cold.

weather,- overcast light winds occasional drizzle , cloud cover cleared as night progressed.

tides,- newmoon, springtide, h/w about 2200.

sea state, quite flat , gentle swell throwing waves of leass than a meter or so at most.

baits,- frozen lug & herring.

rigs, up n overs & pulley.

met up with Ian & Jerry who had been fishing since about 1pm. pitched alongside them opposite the bushes about half way to the teeth.

it had been slow during the day apparently . saw no sign of a fish till after dark . Jerry was first in with a doggie. next was i with a small pout which ot sent back out as bait. followed by a dogfish an hour or so later ( felt like days) . Ian managed a blank beating dogfish on his last wind in b4 heading off in search of food.

i had just one more dogger before giving up at about 1am. well january is usually like that.
cant be arsed to post pics of pout n dogs

Good write up geejay - blank avoided! 🎣🎣👍👍

Good effort Gordon but blimey, that’s a hard day on Chesil, a shame you didn’t get something better for your efforts.
