2024 round up,
finding motivation to get out this past 3 years has been hard.
i find i have fits of sorting tackle, buying bait then just cant be arsed to go, the need for perfect conditions and somehow the needs of my grown family seem to take precedence these days whereas b4 i just had to fish.
i find i am just not putting the time in now , not fishing marginal conditions just for the sake of it, and catch resultd reflect this.
just 12 trips & 10 species, nothing really spectacular with just a single figure smut & a 6LB eel being about the best of it.
no real plans for 2025. cant really be arsed to upgrade my old gear & i seem to have a lot of it now so might need to clear out .
fishing alone is what i usually do but its good to catch up with old mates on the beach as it gives another incentive to actually get out.
good luck n tight lines for 2025. i might run into you on a beach somewhere/when.

I think your aren’t on your own in finding it harder to get motivated. 2024 was probably the worst year I have had fishing wise in the uk, and Norway come to that. It almost feels like a tipping point has been reached. Certain species are no longer present and those that are are getting smaller and smaller in size each year.

Well, a new year, trying to be positive and let’s hope 2025 sees an improvement in our catches.

Bass seems to be the exception. Loads out there, and if RSAs had a fair deal I’d actually book some charters but not when limited to 2 fish. IMG_6701.jpeg
