we didn't walk far & i had a half hearted attempt at searching for a patch of clay be fore i started but results were inconclusive, didn't worry too much about it and fished where we were.
rag and lug from westbay angling were great , i forgot to get and fish or squidy baits but we had about enough to last the day
with bivy pitched and both rods out tide was still ebbing pulling left to right , i left to help ian pitch his bivy , looked up afterwards to see my tripod had blown down or pulled over , found no damage but a dogfish hooked on the downtide rod. ... fish 1st cast curse.
the after noon progressed & the tide turned, ian caught the first plaice & i followed it with one of my own some time later with others turning up sporadically through the afternoon but none of the really any size,

the tide rose and darkness settled in , the wind had dropped and it started getting colder. the tings came out to play relentlessly for ian. while i coaught a few pouts. i utilised a couple as baits hopeing for either something silver or wriggley. but nothing doing.
