Good morning all.
I have gone down to a 4 day week recently and have been enjoying my fishing on empty, remote beaches and rock marks, typically heading out after work or Thursday and sometimes staying out until Saturday morning.
This week I decided to head to one of the most dangerous and remote marks on the Dorset coast, St Albans Head.
The fishing down there is usually quite good, but this week, it was shockingly slow.
The highlight of the trip was witnessing the Milky Way glide across the night sky, with the odd meteor drawing my eyes away from motionless fishing rods.
Day 2, I headed to Chesil to fish biggish baits all day for rays.
Yet again, a disappointment on the ray front, but I did manage to wangle out a few fish.
Half way through, my attention was drawn to a large black area of the sea that appeared to be moving from my left to right.
To my surprise, millions upon millions of small fish could be seen in the surf, at times, forming amazing patterns as the mackerel entered the shoals for a feast.
To finish off the session, I was rewarded with 2 bass of around 3lbs and 6lbs.
A very slow 2 days but very enjoyable.
I look forward to the next one.
All the best.
