trip one. 2.4.22

its been about 6 months since last out as have been having a sh** time of it lately, and it doesn't look like it will improve.
was back in hampshire visiting parents & had thrown some gear into the car to maybe catch the midnight tide at lee' instead of heading home to stare at the tele.

arrived about 2200 sea flat calm & clear , light n/e wind, damned cold clear night.
pitched up to find i had forgotten my hat and a hand towel, also found that my head lamp was playing up with low power and red light only plus wont turn off, i only gave it a quick check b4 i left after chucking my cheap spare one away as it looked like it was put away wet back in november and the battery terminals had rusted away.

baits were bluey & squid, looking for maybe a thornie but i didn't really care just needed to be away from my woes for a while. baited up a 3 hook scratchy rig to start with and had knocks before i set up the other rod, first fish of the year- a pin 'ting, no surprise there.

t'other rod was adorned with a pully rig, which later accounted for a couple of doggies.

by 2am the score was 4 pins ad two dogs , i could still see a light up at the arcade and hoped they were doing better than i, there was still plenty of water as 2nd tide hadnt dropped yet but it was bloody freezing and i'd had enough, short sesh' but not much enthusiasm for it lately.

Well at least you went.
Once the fisherman's blues arrive, they can be hard to shift.

We all have em mate..... then you have a one good trip and you remember why you love it.
Another month and hopefully it will all pick up.

Good report GJ, even if it was bleddy cold, and only Pin Tings & Doggies to show for it. I know what you mean about the lack of enthusiam. I haven't wet a line since last Autumn. I'm not a fan of cold wet weather and it plays havoc with my chest.

Fair play for giving it a go especially when you've said things aren't great for you. Can be hard to get motivated when it's like that. Well done on the fish and hope things turn for the better for you.

Got to in it to win it bey keep at it there’s no better place to be when you got shit going on bey keep the faith and keep fishing ma Bute ??????

Keep going Jay, a bit of time out on the beach can work wonders for clarifying thoughts when you have shite going on. We have all been there at some point mate and we are all here for you.

Thanks for the report too.
