chesil. 11pm-middayish

plan was for the main chesil center carpark , but the new limit of 10 hours parking pissed me off. it was late and dark and i didnt feel like walking . so up n over i went to find a quiet beach.

the new easytide format is anoying as can never see easily if its a spring or a neap, moon looked to be 3/4 waneing, .
wind was north or n/w & moderate, sea state was pretty flat but as i left a nice chopp had started with the wind going more westerly. high tide was for about 10pm so i fished down and back up again.

rigs were pullys and a dropper with smaller hooks.

baits were :- manky squid. sandeel. black lug. preserved rag. & fresh mackerel in the morning.

first cast yealded a pout but darkness was slow , next was a mico huss then a bootlace conger with no more fish till dawn after the tide had turned. had a good pull down and a great fight from what turned out to be a large cuttle , i nearly named it bait as i did the pouting but let it go fortunately it didnt ink me.

found a few mackerel which topped up my bait & gave me something for the pot.

towards high tide a nice black bream fell to my hooks. spordically followed by two more.

final score - bootlace conger./pout./ 4 mackerel./ 3 bream. still cant find the rays.

10 hours parking, what do the robbing barstuards charge for that then ?

Well done , that parking is new isn’t it , we was up there a couple of weeks ago no limit then I think

Bloody annoying that if you want to do a long session, however you can get more hours on one of those apps. Can't remember which one but its displayed on the parking notices (may be just park). I paid for 24 hrs parking (£10) which is the same as for 10hrs parking if you use the machine! Unless its changed in the meantime?

Nice report. Not a great time of year for the rays down there, maybe except for the undulates, but it does seem very quiet on the Ray front.

Gorgeous cuttle mate bloody good eating and bloody good bait fair play for letting him go he whouldnt have been so lucky if i caught it nice sesh mate ?

Nice report & photos Gordon - well done! ?? (y)(y)

Glad the beach was quiet for you. And the fishing a bit busier. Parking for anglers, as gods walking amongst men, should be free!
That’s what I love about Guernsey. Buy a parking disc for a few quid then park anywhere. (Well, in the designated spots and some have a time limit, but not the out of town ones by the fishing marks).
